Angelina Szuch, DNP

Dr. Angelina Szuch earned a Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Vanderbilt University in 2006 and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from The University of Alabama in 2017. She received advance training in hormone therapy through the American Academy of Antiaging and is certified in Functional Medicine by the Institute for Functional Medicine. Dr. Szuch is also know as Major Szuch.  She currently serves as a U.S. Army Reserve Public Health Nurse, where she applies the principles of preventive medicine to keep our troops healthy. Dr. Szuch practices lifestyle medicine which is often the first-line therapy conventional medical practices skip. She believes in the body’s innate ability to heal itself if given the right nutrition, exercise and other lifestyle interventions.

After several years of suffering, Angelina was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis and Small Fiber Neuropathy in 2015.  She sought evaluation and treatment from some of the best physicians around.  After advising her that her small fiber nerve density was profoundly decreased, she was told that there was nothing that could be done to stop or reverse the condition.  Medications for neuropathy resulted in severe lethargy and depression and provided little relief from the neuropathic pain. The Rheumatologist prescribed a variety of toxic medications that had little impact on joint pain.  None of the specialist physicians consulted asked about diet or stress and certainly did not suggest that these conditions could be improved through lifestyle interventions.  In 2018 Dr. Szuch became fed up with hopelessness and helplessness and began searching for solutions.  She followed world renowned physicians who advocate the functional medicine approach to chronic disease.  Through her training at the Institute for Function Medicine, she has learned that her conditions can be reversed, and that there is a path toward regeneration of small fiber nerves and achieving optimal health.  After a few short months following functional medicine protocols, she is no longer taking prescription medications, has more energy and less pain.  There is hope!

Angelina is married and has four children.  Like you, she has experienced the stress of life.  She’s experienced stressful corporate jobs, balancing work, children and advanced education.  She knows life isn’t always easy and sometimes “stuff” just happens.

Angelina invites you to join her on a path to healing.
